Fingal Head Coastcare

Come and join Fingal Head Coastcare in the planting of coastal woodland species in the Coastal Protection Zone behind Dreamtime Beach, Fingal Head. The area has been cleared of weeds including Lantana and Bitou and we will be planting to improve biodiversity and provide habitat for coastal fauna. Fingal Head Coastcare has, for 38 years, been revegetating 34 hectares of coastal crown land on the Fingal Peninsula. On the eastern side of Fingal Road approx 300 metres north of 44 Fingal Road there is a sandy track to the beach . On National Tree Day there will be a sign-on table at the start of that track. Walk 600 metres east towards the beach and south to the planting site. The route will be marked with pink ribbons and signs.


Please arrive at the planting site at 9.15 for a 9.30 start. Park on the Tweed River bank opposite the sandy track to the beach which is located 300 metres north of the house at 44 Fingal Road. The walk into the site is approx. 600 metres and will take approx. 12 minutes. There will be a sign-on table at the start of the track to the planting site. Wear sturdy, covered shoes, a hat, long sleeved shirt and long pants. Please bring water to drink, gloves, bucket and a spade or trowel. We will provide a simple morning tea at the conclusion of the planting soon after 10.30 am. We are looking forward to seeing you there.
