Shire of Esperance National Tree Day
Revegetation activities have been underway at Lake Monjingup Reserve for over a decade, and this year the Shire of Esperance plans to plant an additional 1250 seedlings native to the area to contribute to the return of native trees, shrubs and sedges to this recreational area. This reserve is located in close proximity to Lake Monjingup, which is an excellent bird-watching site, and the surrounding swampland and banksia woodland vegetation provides habitat for local fauna and flora.

The Shire is providing gloves and all planting tools. To save waste, please bring your own drinking water bottles, which you can refill at the planting site, and a reusable cup / travel mug to make use of the tea and coffee provided. There are toilets on-site. Esperance Toyota are very kindly providing a BBQ lunch again this year, so please come ready to plant heaps of trees and work up an appetite to enjoy the food these generous volunteers have cooked for us.
