Maribyrnong City Council & Working Heritage National Tree Day 2024 at Jacks Magazine
Maribyrnong City Council is proud to be supporting National Tree Day again in 2024. Help us plant approximately 4,000 native plants at Jacks Magazine to increase habitat for wildlife along the Maribyrnong River. Maribyrnong City Council is committed to increasing vegetation in the municipality. National Tree Day, an initiative by Planet Ark, is an opportunity for local residents to connect with other community members and spend time in nature. Research shows that exposure to nature improves mental and physical health, and also helps children learn about the natural world and develop key life skills, such as problem-solving and resilience. Community members of all ages are invited to attend and will be provided with a free coffee cart and BBQ lunch for their efforts. Younger community members can enjoy a free wildlife show and face painting on the day.
