City of Whittlesea Tree Day Site Details

City of Whittlesea

Come plant native trees and wildflowers and explore a range of free family-friendly activities. Enjoy learning about pollinators and meet your local wildlife rescuers. Toast marshmallows on a campfire, alongside others in your community. Help us to improve habitat, enhance biodiversity, and beautify Mernda Villages Conservation Reserve. The site has benefited from revegetation inn recent years, especially direct seeding native grasses. The site also has many remnant large and old River Red Gums. This National Tree Day we are adding a mass planting of wildflowers for our pollinator species. The planting will be centered around planting for our pollinator species including bees, bugs, butterflies, birds and more. No planting skills nor experience necessary! The friendly City of Whittlesea Sustainable Environment Team will show you how. We recognise the rich Aboriginal heritage of this country and acknowledge the Wurundjeri Willum Clan and Taungurung People as the Traditional Owners of lands within the City of Whittlesea. Please book via our Humanitix event booking found here: https://events.humanitix.com/national-tree-day-2024 For more information email landcare@whittlesea.vic.gov.au
