Darlington Community Garden Inc

A 20m winter creek has been established on the south side of the community garden to channel the water away from a pedestrian area into the wetlands area below. There is currently no vegetation in the creek bed and native grasses and shrubs that will with stand summer dry and winter wet conditions need to be planted to rehabilitate this area. AIMS To plant grasses and small shrubs in the currently bare creek line. To bring people together of all ages and abilities to rehabilitate their local recreational space To create habitat for flora and fauna in a degraded site. To filter the water before it flows into the wetland area below

West of the Darlington oval near the skatepark on Pine Terrace, adjacent to the fire brigade

VOLUNTEER INFORMATION

Bring your favourite digging tools for planting tubestocks and gloves if required. Parking is available on Pine Tce , further along from the fire station. Public transport is available. The bus stops near the tennis courts and it's a short walk to the other end of the oval.
