Friends of Forktree Planting Day 2024

Come and join us on National Tree Day 2024 as we continue to re-establish biodiverse habitat in this beautiful corner of the Fleurieu Peninsula. Learn about the vision of The Forktree Project from our enthusiastic, friendly and knowledgeable team, and have fun while doing good for the environment! We will doing some riparian zone planting of rarer endemic wetland species, shrubs as part of heathy woodland habitat re-establishment and trees as part of re-establishing pink gum, red gum, blue gum and manna gum habitat associations. Suitable for all ages. We look forward to seeing you there!

DIRECTIONS

Directions: turn into Whitelaw Road from Forktree Road, and the entrance to the property is the first gate on the left, about 100m from the junction. Look out for the big green shed with huge rainwater tanks attached, surrounded by young trees - you can't miss it!

VOLUNTEER INFORMATION

What is provided: * Hearty, warming soup. bread, etc * Tea, coffee,, hot chocolate * Afternoon tea What to bring: * warm clothes, including a beanie * waterproof outer layer * decent footwear (ideally gumboots or workboots) * a change of footwear for your journey home (your boots will be very muddy!) * your own gloves and planting tools if you have them (but we will provide all equipment to those who need it) * waterbottle, keep cup if you have one * additional snacks and lunch as needed
