Blue Gum Lake planting day - Wirambi Landcare

The aims of the projects is to restore the Banksia Woodlands of the reserve which is threaten ecological ecosystem. The species that will be planted will be mainly Banksias and Eucalyptus species along with insect and bird attracting natives to increase food and habitat for the species. The long term aim for the project is to increase food and habitat for the critically endangered red tail-black cockatoos and white-tailed black cockatoos. Our other aims are to build on the already well establish relations with City of Melville, Friends of Booragoon and Blue Gum Lakes, Aquinas College, Melville Magic Girl Guides and Brentwood Primary School. By ensuring we have these types of events provides opportunities for people to be involved in conservation.

DIRECTIONS

We will gather at entrance of the Blue Gum Tennis club car park off Moolyeen Road. Look out for the signs and people in high vis. A site induction will be held at this location before being led to the planting site.

VOLUNTEER INFORMATION

Get outdoors, meet your community and make new friends along the way whilst doing something great for the environment. Volunteer for an hour or for the entire morning. Please bring gloves, water bottle and wear appropriate clothes (e.g. enclosed shoes, long pants, long-sleeved shirt, hat, raincoat)
