Pit Pony Park rehabilitation Tree Day Site Details

Pit Pony Park rehabilitation

Pit Pony Park is a much loved community park that was replanted over 5 years with the assistance of many community volunteers using council, state and federal grant funds to rehabilitate the bare space. The existing trees need attention now. We propose to plant native grasses around the stands of trees to prevent erosion, to add new mulch and to plant native ground covers and small shrubs. This is attract pollinators, small invertebrates and retain water for the large plants. This park is adjacent to Glenrock State Recreation Area and is a 'stepping-stone' site for native wild life between the coast and the Watagan mountains.
