Killcare Beach NTD 2023 -Central Coast Council
National Tree Day 2023- Killcare Beach will focus on the planting of native coastal species in the fore and hind dunes of Killcare Beach on the Central Coast. Dune vegetation is important, not only is it critical in reducing erosion and sand lost during high seas, winds and storms, dune vegetation is also an important component of regional biodiversity - providing habitat and food for native flora and fauna.

DIRECTIONS
Planting will take place in the dunes at the southern end of Killcare Beach. To get there continue along to the end of Beach Drive toward Killcare Surf Lifesaving Club.
VOLUNTEER INFORMATION
National Tree Day this year at Killcare, will be a chance for people to get involved in restoring important dune vegetation, building the coastline's resilience and increasing biodiversity within the area. Participants at Killcare NTD will also be able connect with community and learn from the knowledgeable volunteers and environmental experts on hand facilitating education sessions, or to answer any questions throughout the day. Several organisations from the area will be present on the day providing information, education, and hands-on sessions for the whole family to get involved in. Killcare Kiosk will be open to purchase food, refreshments and coffee at the event. Ample carparking is available. Participants are encouraged to wear appropriate clothes and sun protection as well as enclosed shoes.
