Central Coast Council - Porters Creek Tree Day Site Details

Central Coast Council - Porters Creek

This event is part of a project aiming to restore roosting and foraging habitat for the endangered native bird the Swift Parrot. The site is part of the Porters Creek wetland which is the largest remaining freshwater wetland on the central coast. The wetland supports a diverse range of flora and fauna including some threatened species and also plays a role in managing flooding, filtering stormwater before entering Wyong River and Tuggerah Lakes and providing food and habitat for native animals. The event will also include information and display stalls from Central Coast Council and other local environmental organisations and include a guided bird walk of the site.
