Stars - Howden's Lagoon revitalisation

This planting aims to reestablish seedlings that were lost due the extensive flooding which occurred during 2022 downstream of Lake Hume. Total area 3.4 hectares. The project aims to: - Improve connectivity between remnant and revegetated areas of box gum grassy woodland. - Improve habitat for a number of threatened and declining bird and mammal species such as squirrel glider, brown tree creeper, crested shrike tit and diamond firetail. - Improve water quality and wetland habitat of Howden's lagoon - Provide visual relief in an area that has extensive and rapid encroachment of urban development - habitat refuge for species in an area that has extensive and rapid encroachment of urban development

DIRECTIONS

The planting event will be held approximately 11km east of Albury along the Riverina Highway. Planting will be on the Southern side of the Riverina Highway on the Murray River Floodplain. Volunteers will need to park on the ACC stockpile quarry off the Riverina Highway, approximately 1 km east from the Kerr Road intersection.

Volunteers will need to park on the ACC stockpile quarry off the Riverina Highway, approximately 1 km east from the Kerr Road intersection. Please provide your own sun protection, warm clothing and any personal planting equipment to support your needs in addition to the items provided
