The Seedling Bank grants are now open for 2025, offering a fantastic opportunity for schools and community groups across Australia to get involved in tree planting initiatives. The Seedling Bank, run by Planet Ark's National Tree Day, is a heartwarming grant program designed to support local communities in their efforts to plant native trees, shrubs and grasses and work on regeneration projects throughout the year.
This initiative proudly supplies funding for native seedlings to schools and community groups nationwide, aiming to bring people together to enhance their local environments. Grant applications for The Seedling Bank are open between December and March each year, and the best part is that you can plant your seedlings anytime throughout the year and still receive a grant. So, no need to wait—get those green thumbs ready!
Since its launch, The Seedling Bank has awarded an incredible 251 grants, resulting in over 180,000 seedlings planted and the involvement of more than 12,000 volunteers. That’s a lot of love for our planet!
If you're interested in applying for a grant, applications are open from December to March each year, so be sure to mark your calendar. Start by visiting the National Tree Day website to learn more about the Seedling Bank and the application process. You’ll need to log in to the Coordinator Hub or create an account if you’re new. This will give you access to everything you need to apply. After that, register your event and fill in the application form, sharing your vision for your planting project.
It’s important to note that, at this time, only schools and community groups are eligible to apply for a grant. This focus helps ensure that the benefits of tree planting reach local communities, encouraging teamwork and environmental stewardship.
So, if you’re passionate about making a difference and want to play a part in nurturing our environment, The Seedling Bank is the perfect opportunity for you. Get ready to roll up your sleeves, plant some seeds, and watch your community thrive!
