Hindmarsh Landcare Network Tree Day Site Details

Hindmarsh Landcare Network

The aim of this project is to host a community revegetation event on the Rainbow Rises, 2km west of Rainbow, as part of a broader plan to restore the original native vegetation there. Our objectives are to plant 150 trees and shrubs is a section of prepared ground. We will guard each plant with multi-coloured, painted tree guards in an arc across the ground. This will be a nod to how the township of Rainbow got its name. We will involve local school children in painting the guards. We will host a community planting morning, inviting the school children, parents and willing volunteers to participate, followed by a celebratory barbeque lunch.
