City of Perth - Heirisson Island/Matagarup Planting Day
The City of Perth is planting a large number of tube stock trees (including over a 150 x 35L), shrubs and grasses to improve the islands environmental footprint. Numerous of small to larger sites/areas have been identified on the island as in need of improving its canopy, erosion control and habitat.

DIRECTIONS
The City of Perth will be hosting a community planting day out on Heirisson Island/Matagarup. The event will take place within the Kangaroo enclosure on the south west side of the Causeway.
VOLUNTEER INFORMATION
Please take the weather into account - be it sun or rain, plants will go in the ground. Do bring your own water bottle, as this will ensure we minimise our waste on the day. Light refreshments will be provided on the day Parking and toilets can be found on the north side of the island, about 450m away from the planting area. We encourage all of our community to attend, should you require assistance, please reach out to us and we will ensure we meet your needs – and keep you busy planting! Please meet at the northern kangaroo gate (south west side of the Causeway). Signs will be put up from the car park.
