Friends of Lane Cove National Park
Friends of Lane Cove National Park have been working on this long running project since 2009, during that time they have planted well over 10,000 local native plants helping to restore an important habitat corridor along the Lane Cove River. In addition to the annual National Tree Day planting they have a regular weekly bushcare group to maintain the area and remove the invasive weeds and particularly the vines that were killing the native vegetation. Over the period of the project there has been a noticeable increase in small birds in the area, and even the occasional visit by rock wallaby.
