Friends of the Forgotten Woodlands Inc. and Mt Elephant Community Management Group planting day

Friends of the Forgotten Woodlands Inc. aim to enhance existing remnant populations of three keystone species which were once common on the Victorian Volcanic Plains, the Silver Banksia, Drooping Sheoak and Sweet Bursaria. We also are creating seed orchard sites and seed production areas, using the most up to date genetics to inform how we mix provenances to ensure longevity within each site. Wherever possible, we work with existing friends or community groups, to enhance our work. In this case, we are working with the Mt Elephant Community Management group to plant 750 plants in 2019, a combination of the three species listed above. The Friends of the Forgotten Woodlands Inc. is a group which has been going for only 2 years, but we are gaining momentum and achieving some very pleasing results already. Please register your interest in the day by visiting the Mt Elephant website or contact Aggie on the details below, and we look forward to seeing you on the day!
