Yarran Dheran Reserve Tree Day Site Details

Yarran Dheran Reserve

Yarran Dheran is a bushland reserve situated along the Mullum Mullum Creek in Mitcham Victoria. It is a bit of 'real bush' only 20 km from the CBD and owes its existence to the local community who fought for a tunnel under the Eastlink tollway as an alternative to the proposed route through the Mullum Mullum Valley. It is a mixture of original indigenous bushland and reconstructed bushland. In 2019, we have a grant from Melbourne Water to plant 2,500 plants as part of our objectives to regenerate the bushland with plants indigenous to the area. The Mullum Mullum Valley provides an important wildlife corridor along the Mullum Mullum Creek which flows from Croydon to Templestowe, where it joins the Yarra Riveer
