VOLUNTEER INFORMATION

Our friendly volunteers are available to meet you at the registration desk. We provide gloves, seedlings, refreshments and a barbecue as well as a planting and safety demonstration to help get your started. There is no need to bring tools and equipment as the holes will be pre-dug for you. (If you prefer to use your own gloves and a small hand trowel please bring them along.) Hand washing and toilet facilities are close to the planting site. Parking is available in the reserve carpark or from adjacent side streets (The Parade, Bombay St, Minchinbury Tce.) The nearest bus stop is on Oaklands Road (opposite the Sports and Leisure Centre, Oaklands Road). Marion Station is a short walk from the site, and Sturt River linear park (shared use trail) is nearby for cyclists or pedestrian access. This event is held outdoors in winter. Please dress warmly, wear sturdy footwear and bring a light jacket in case of light showers. There is some shelter in the reserve, so planting will only be cancelled if there is persistent heavy storms or lightning. You will be notified by email prior to the event if we need to reschedule due to extreme weather. (Please note: we do not release your personal information to others.)
