Umina Community Group Tree Day Site Details

Umina Community Group

Council have given us permission to plant six advanced trees at six locations in Ocean Beach Road. Our plan was to have 26 trees planted but existing infrastructure under the verge prevented most of the desired plantings. Our aim is to restore canopy back to our streets. Trees are our best defense against hot summer temperatures, increased pollution levels and loss of habitat for wildlife. These trees, when well looked after, will provide oxygen, provide protection from UV rays and provide homes for native birds and animals.
