Mt Gravatt Environmental Group Tree Day Site Details

Mt Gravatt Environmental Group

Join other community members and groups for the 2019 National Tree Day planting to restore a degraded site beside the Eastern Outlook Track. Special focus will be planting species that minimise bushfire risk for adjoining properties and maintain views to Mt Petrie and Stradbroke Island. We are working with Council to have a seat installed for walkers to stop, soak up the winter sun and enjoy the birdlife. Download track map: https://megoutlook.files.wordpress.com/2017/01/mt-gravatt-conservation-reserve-tracks-ver-8-1.pdf to extend the Small Bird Habitat created by National Tree Day events in 2015, 2016 and 2017. Small forest birds need scrubby habitat for shelter as well as a variety of food ranging from nectar and grass seeds to insects. Habitat created by participants in past National Tree Day events, is now thriving and already attracting butterflies, birds and bees.
