Fawkner Memorial Park Community Tree Planting
Join us on Sunday 27 July for a Community Tree Planting Day at Fawkner Memorial Park. This community event is part of National Tree Day and is free to attend. We welcome gardeners of all ages and skill levels, including kids! We ask that any children attending be supervised by a parent or caretaker. Complimentary coffee and refreshments will be provided, along with all the gardening tools you’ll need. All attendees will also get to take home a native plant to help increase the biodiversity of their own green spaces.

DIRECTIONS
We will be planting along Merlynston Creek which runs through Fawkner Memorial Park. If you’re entering Fawkner Memorial Park from Sydney Road, cross the train line and turn right at the main roundabout with the fountain. Turn onto Seventh Avenue (the fifth exit on the roundabout) and continue straight. The event will be ahead on this road up on the left. If you’re entering from Box Forest Road you’ll be entering on Seventh Avenue, so continue straight and we’ll be ahead on your right. If you’re entering from Fawkner Train Station, head north along the bike path until you enter Fawkner Memorial Park near the train overpass. At the main roundabout with the fountain, continue north along Seventh Avenue (the fifth exit on the roundabout) until you reach the event site on your left-hand side. This is approximately a 13-minute walk or 3-minute bike ride.
VOLUNTEER INFORMATION
Please dress for gardening outdoors in warm clothing and sturdy footwear. Gardening items will be provided, but if you have a pair of gardening gloves or your own tools, please bring them along too.
