City of Newcastle Family Funday

We are restoring a wetland in Wallsend that connects to Hunter Wetlands National Parks, a wetland of international importance. We'd love you and your friends and family to join the celebration! There will be loads of activities including tree planting, dipnetting for waterbugs, guided wetland tours, nature art and craft, face painting, live music, free BBQ (with vegan/vegetarian option), and coffee van!

DIRECTIONS

Event is adjacent to the Wallsend Swimming Centre and Wallsend Active Hub car park opposite Plattsburg Public School. You'll see us set up in the car park next to a beautiful wetland.

VOLUNTEER INFORMATION

Please wear long sleeves and long pants for sun protection and warmth. Bring a hat and water bottle. We will provide all the equipment. Gloves for small children provided by Newcastle Toyota. BBQ provided by Newcastle Men's Shed (vegan, vegetarian and GF options).
