ORGANISATION OF HINDU MALAYALEES NSW

The Organisation of Hindu Malayalees NSW (OHM NSW) can organise a tree plantation activity with the following aims and objectives: Aims: 1. Environmental Conservation – Promote a greener environment by planting trees and increasing green cover. 2. Community Engagement – Bring together members of OHM NSW and the wider community for a meaningful cause. 3. Cultural & Spiritual Values – Emphasise the Hindu belief in protecting nature (Vriksha Raksha) as a form of dharma. 4. Sustainable Living – Educate people on the importance of trees in combating climate change and preserving biodiversity. 5. Strengthening Social Responsibility – Encourage individuals, especially the younger generation, to take responsibility for the environment. Objectives: 1. Planting Native Trees – Select and plant native species suitable for the local climate to support biodiversity. 2. Educational Awareness – Conduct brief sessions on the importance of afforestation and conservation. 3. Collaboration with Authorities – Work with local councils, environmental groups, and government bodies for sustainable execution. 4. Annual Follow-Up & Maintenance – Ensure the survival of planted trees through regular monitoring and care. 5. Community Participation – Encourage maximum participation from OHM NSW members, including families and youth .
