Springfield Lakes Nature Care INC Tree Day Site Details

Springfield Lakes Nature Care INC

1. To restore historic Woogaroo Scrub in Opossum Creek 2. Provide native plants for habitat & food for endangered animals Powerful Owl & Koalas and create biodiversity. 3. Enhance the area with a variety of mid storey plants shrubs to increase the small bird population that inhabits the area, finches, robins and honeyeaters. Opossum Creek Revegetation Project was initiated by Springfield Lakes Nature care Inc who removed invasive Chinese Em & Camphor Laurel trees & Lantana in small section of the riparian zone along Opossum Creek. We need to revegetate the area with native plants that are endemic to the area, to provide habitat food for Koalas, Powerful Owl & small birds that are found in the area. We would like volunteers to help us plant the tube stock, & water the plants in.
