DIRECTIONS

National Tree Day will be held at 2 (adjoined) sites: Site 1: Melros Beach foredune will be working with our Natural areas Team and local environmental legends Bouvard Coastcare leading the site - where 1800 local coastal dune species will be planted to target coastal erosion. This will need a high level of mobility. This site is closest to the toilet, ambulance and food trucks in the beach carpark. Site 2: is more accessible and prioritized for people with mobility issues and will be within nearby Melros Reserve. This site is in partnership with WALGA funded Urban Greening initiative with another 400 seedlings that are able to be planted on the day to supplement the 400 advanced trees that will already be planted. This site will have info stalls, local environmental groups and kids activities and will be led by our Environmental Engagement Team and Landscaping. There will be 500 seedlings given away to tree planters on the day by Peel Men of The Trees, free sausage sizzle from Lions Club and heavily subsidised coffee and food vans.
