'Re-Vege the Edge' Tree Day Site Details

'Re-Vege the Edge'

This site is on the edge of Coomonderry Swamp, the largest freshwater coastal wetland in Southern NSW. The swamp is home to a number of endangered species and vegetation communities including the Australasian Bittern, the Green and Golden Bell frog, and adjacent to a colony of Greater Gliders in Seven Mile Beach National Park. The swamp is a critical part of the Berry (wildlife) Corridor, which provides connectivity between the Cambewarra Range and the coastline. The aim of this event is to support the ecological sustainability of the swamp basin by revegetating a portion of the swamp shoreline, and supporting the Berry Corridor by creating a connection of native vegetation to remnant forest patches to the east.
