Friends of Forktree Planting Day 2025

Come and join us to mark National Tree Day 2025 as we plant a wide range of native trees, shrubs and native grasses to restore biodiverse habitat in this beautiful corner of the Fleurieu Peninsula. Six years into our habitat restoration project, we have planted 25,000+ native plants, and are thrilled to see amazing results already: thriving native trees, shrubs and grasses attracting native birds and fauna back to the area in greater numbers each year. This year's plantings will focus on enriching the vegetation communities we are establishing and extending planting areas. We are super excited to see biodiversity grow even more this year. Come and join us for a rewarding day in a spectacular location as we do our bit for biodiversity and climate! A great day with a fantastic group of like-minded people all wanting to do their bit for the planet.

Please bring the following with you: Your own filled water bottle (it can be refilled on site as needed) and Keep Cup if possible. Your own food and refreshments to supplement the soup and sandwiches provided - you may well will be hungry! Your own gardening gloves and tools if you have them (we have plenty of tools and gloves for volunteers to borrow but would appreciate people bringing their own if they have them to ensure that we have enough for everyone!) Come appropriately dressed for ALL WEATHER CONDITIONS - the weather can be very changeable in this part of the Fleurieu Peninsula. Wear long pants, long sleeves and bring layers. Bring a weatherproof outer layer and a woolly hat. Decent, enclosed footwear is ESSENTIAL - ideally gumboots, workboots or walking boots.
