Hacks Island - Friends of Bool and Hacks Lagoons

Bool Lagoon Game Reserve and Hacks Lagoon Conservation Park are located approximately 24 kilometres south of Naracoorte, in South Australia’s Limestone Coast. Combined, the parks conserve 3,220 hectares of one of the most important remnant wetlands in a region where wetlands have been reduced to less than six percent of their original area. An important feature of these parks is the adjoining open woodlands and grasslands, which support a range of threatened species including the Beautiful Firetail, Glossy Grass Skink, Stiped Legless Lizard, and Southern Bentwing Bat. This planting seeks to support such species by: 1. Establishing habitat-providing plants (e.g., Acacia melanoxylon, Allocasuarina verticillata, Eucalyptus leucoxylon, etc.) 2. Establishing food-providing plants (e.g., Banksia marginata, Callistemon rugulosus, Bursaria sponisa, etc.) Help us contribute to the restoration of this important site!
