Friends of Gardiners Creek Reserve Tree Day Site Details

Friends of Gardiners Creek Reserve

The biodiversity area we are developing is based upon a mature tree grove nearest to the Fletcher Parade entrance to Gardiners Creek Reserve. It is near the southern bridge over the creek. Gardiners Creek Reserve Lat. 37.8507S Long. 145.1094 E 20/07/2025 10 – 12.30 Aims & Objectives: The grove will be the area in the park nearest to the new Burwood Station on the Suburban Rail loop around Melbourne. Last year we established the ground cover over the area which has mature eucalyptus on it.. This year we aim to create the small bushes and shrubland environmentally necessary for the small bird population - robins and wrens which have no sheltered locale at the moment. With the aid of the local council we will also have logs and rocks to encourage skinks and lizards back to this area. We want it to be a functioning living biodiverse area linking up with others being developed in the Reserve. Want 250 shrubs, 50 grasses
