National Tree Day, an initiative by Planet Ark, has several key aims and objectives: Environmental Awareness: To raise awareness about the importance of trees and their role in the environment. Community Engagement: To encourage community participation in tree planting and environmental stewardship. Habitat Restoration: To contribute to the restoration and preservation of Australia's natural landscapes. Climate Change Mitigation: To address climate change by increasing tree cover, which helps to absorb carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. Education and Inspiration: To educate people about the importance of trees and inspire them to take action to protect the environment. To connect people with nature, promote environmental awareness, and contribute to a greener and more sustainable Australia.
