Friends of Cleland National Park Tree Day Site Details

Friends of Cleland National Park

The Friends of Cleland National Park are very excited to be able to present this opportunity to help re-generate a significant area (150-200m) of creek-line adjacent to Winter Track working back from the entrance at Waterfall Gully Road. Much work has been done over the past 2-3 years to remove invasive weeds from this section of creek-line. Park Rangers have also replaced old fencing and upgraded signage at the entrance. Now this area is ready for revegetation with roughly 1,200 native seedlings to be planted. We need your help to so this. The result will be a transformed creek-line with Friends of Cleland volunteers monitoring and looking after the plantings in coming years.

DIRECTIONS

We will be planting at the entrance to the Winter Track which is adjacent to Waterfall Gully Road. Friends of Cleland National Park will be at the gate to allow people to enter via the fire-track. Parking will be available just a short distance up the track from the gate (volunteers will show you where to park).

VOLUNTEER INFORMATION

At this stage we expect to be providing all the planting gear you need including tools, gloves, seedlings, stakes and surrounds for seedlings etc Our experienced volunteers will also be present and available to provide guidance if you need it. It would be a good idea to bring some water, dress for the weather and if you have a favourite set of gardening gloves bring them along as well. The main thing is to register your interest with Gray who is the coordinator of Friends of Cleland. As we draw closer to the day we will be able to provide more details and updates.
