The Yakka Basin is a drainage area for a new estate and has no understorey vegetation present. Planting indigenous shrubs, grasses and groundcovers suitable for this location will improve biodiversity, beautify a barren landscape, improve soil quality and bring the community together to enjoy a rewarding, outdoor activity.

National Tree Day will be held in an area known as the Yakka Basin, accessed from Grenache Drive off Southdown Street. Parking will be along Grenache Drive and the site is within walking distance.
