Cubberla Witton Catchment Network Inc Tree Day Site Details

Cubberla Witton Catchment Network Inc

Handel Street Park beside Jacaranda Place is the old CSIRO complex. There is a new 200 metre wide public open space along the river bank, which currently is degraded native vegetation with weeds, grass, weed vines etc. The site was weeded 12 months ago and arborist mulch spread over the site to suppress weeds. This will replant where the old buildings used to sit. This planting will extend the current four stages of rehabilitation already undertaken and will take the rehabilitation to the end of the high ground above the flood plain. The seedlings will be selected with species consistent with the Regional Ecosystem (Grey bloodwood and ironbark) and will extend the habitat corridor from the Esplanade Bushcare and Golf Course rehabilitation areas
