Cottesloe Coastcare Association Planting
Since 1995, Cottesloe Coastcare Association has worked to protect the few natural areas remaining in Cottesloe. In 2021 volunteer members work closely with the Town of Cottesloe, replanting the sand dunes with indigenous local vegetation, creating habitats for local wildlife and adding to Cottesloe’s sense of place. Not only do our green spaces promote human health and well-being but they also provide a critical line of defence against erosion. We work to protect these areas so that everyone, now and in the future, can appreciate our local plants, animals and birds. We collect and propagate local seed, replant degraded areas, remove invasive weeds, collect rubbish and provide fences and walkways in fragile areas. On June 6th we aim to plant 1000 indigenous seedlings into an area of a severely degraded sand dunes in Cottesloe.
