Duffys Forest Residents Association

Duffys Forest Residents Association is celebrating National Tree Day event at Waratah Park the former home of Skippy the Bush Kangaroo. The project aims to help strengthen the capacity of the Metropolitan Local Aboriginal Land Council to restore their land to a place where Aboriginal people and the wider community can reconnect to country and enjoy this unique environment. 400 native tube stock will be planted in degraded areas to support the ongoing restoration and rehabilitation project of this iconic heritage listed site. The project aims to encourage canopy species and establish ground cover, to improve biodiversity and wildlife habitat, and to inspire and educate volunteers to care for our environment. Joining this event is an opportunity to do something positive for your community and the environment.

Volunteers must wear protective clothing including and hat and footwear. Please bring gloves and drinking water. Children are very welcome Parking is available onsite.
