BBQ Fun and Conserving the Nodding Geebung! Tree Day Site Details

BBQ Fun and Conserving the Nodding Geebung!

Are you eager to celebrate National Tree Day a little bit early this year? Join Conservation Volunteers Australia, along with Penrith City Council and the Office of Environment and Heritage, to celebrate a special "Save our Species" event on July 25th. Come along to the Castlereagh General Cemetery Reserve for the day and help to conserve this unique patch of bushland. While we won't be planting any trees, you can give us a hand by removing exotic plant species and collecting rubbish throughout the site to encourage threatened plant species to naturally regenerate on their own. Be rewarded for your efforts by enjoying a FREE BBQ lunch, and stick around for a guided tour of the site presented by local industry experts. On this tour, you will learn about all the special plant and animal species that live on the site, including a couple of endangered species like the Nodding Geebung. Upon request, we can provide free transport from Penrith train station. Registrations are essential via our Eventbrite event page: http://bit.ly/savingourspecies
