2015 Schools Competition - Nature Craft Entrants
YMCA Early Learning Centre Taylors Hill - Vic
Year 6Teacher: Rosalina Mena
This month we celebrated NAIDOC week by doing aboriginal related activities to educate the children about culture, we provided the children with a variety of nature resources such as dirt, sand leaves and bark from our very own yard outside to paste on a large paper. The children used brushes and their hands to spread the pasted over the paper then began to place the dirt, sand, leaves and bark all over the paper. The children love the sensory feeling of the nature resources and were engaged in this activity. Continuing thought the month we extended on celebrating NAIDOC by creating another experience for the children using paint the represents the colours of the Aboriginal flag (red yellow and black) the children enjoyed using leaves, sticks and their hands to paint.
