Tree Cheers For Australia!

Australia has 22 million reasons to celebrate after planting more than 1.2 million trees at this year's National Tree Day and Schools Tree Day, bringing the total number to over 22 million trees planted by more than 3.5 million participants since our campaign began in 1996.
On Friday 24 July and Sunday 26 July, more than 300,000 people across Australia participated in events hosted by councils, schools, businesses, communities and Toyota dealers across the nation.
The 20th National Tree Day was a significant milestone for us and we are thrilled to have celebrated this event with our supporters and participants. The campaign wouldn't continue to grow if it wasn't for the passion that Australians have for the environment, and it's a testament to the individuals who work to preserve the environment and have a positive impact in their communities.
Our theme this year, "You Can Grow So Much", focused on the wealth of opportunities engaging with nature brings to individuals, communities and the environment. From the stories and photos we saw from the many events held this year, it was evident that the theme really resonated with Australians.
An independent research report titled ‘Needing Trees - The Nature of Happiness' and launched ahead of National Tree Day this year, found that you can grow happier by getting outside and connecting with nature. In saying this, we will continue to encourage individuals, families and communities to continue to host planting events, even in their own backyard, because at Planet Ark, everyday is Tree Day.
National Tree Day is organised by Planet Ark in partnership with Toyota and its Dealer Network, which provides on the ground support at local community tree planting sites Australia-wide.
