Offer Support
If you can't coordinate your own site or you can't make it to an existing site to volunteer, there are still plenty of ways that you can offer your support to National Tree Day activities in your local area.
Donating resources is a valuable way to make a contribution. Your local site could need trees, seeds, plants, tree guards, mulch, gardening gloves, trowels or other tree-planting tools. Many sites turn their National Tree Day activities into community events complete with BBQ's, entertainment, face painting, wildlife shows, or educational talks, creating much need for local, individual and business support in donating food, equipment or expertise.
You can help out a local site by offering specialist knowledge or assistance with logistics, media coverage, or community promotions. You might be able to help with deliveries of equipment to the site, enlisting volunteers for tree day activities, or you might be involved with a local sports team or community group that can send along representatives to heighten the profile of your local National Tree Day event.
There is no end to the many ways that you can lend a hand to support this great cause and the wonderful site coordinators and volunteers that make Tree Day the success that it is.
If you'd like to help, contact the National Tree Day hotline on 1300 88 5000 to find your local sites and get in touch with the site coordinator to establish how you can be of assistance.
