Associate Professor Mardie Townsend

Associate Professor Mardie Townsend of Deakin University's School of Health & Social Development is a researcher and lecturer with a focus on the links between people, health and place. Her significant body of work has been widely published in peer reviewed literature and she is also on the editorial board for multiple international journals. She has delivered over 30 keynote addresses to conferences and forums.

Currently her work consists of collaborative research and policy development with governments, NGOs and industry regarding the benefits of contact with nature for human health and wellbeing. 

Associate Professor Mardie Townsend is a spokesperson for National Tree Day 2012.
